Social networking sites are doing a lot more these days than giving you new ways to waste time at work. They’re also playing double duty by enabling you to connect with people and get something done at same time.
Much like Friendster did for online dating, sites like Feedster and LinkedIn are doing for job hunting.
While social networks for the sake of, umm… socializing are worthy in and of themselves, network sites live up to their fullest potential when they allow users to leverage a trusted group of friends and contacts for tasks where it really helps to have a starting point - i.e. job hunting.
