Searchers Seek Out Multiple Engines

A study by Nielsen/NetRatings confirmed what many of the analysts were saying this morning at SES - searchers are using more than one engine to get the information they need.

A study by Nielsen/NetRatings confirmed what many of the analysts were saying this morning at SES - searchers are using more than one engine to get the information they need.
Not surprisingly, Google users are the most loyal, with 58% turning to an additional engine, followed by 70% of MSN users and 71% of Yahoo users.
The study also took a look at volume (the amount of queries for external information on a particular site), where Google again reigns supreme. Google leads the pack with close to 50% of all searches, Yahoo is at 21%, MSN Search 13%. Altogether, the top three make up over 80 percent of all Web searches.
