Claria Study Says Yahoo Tops in Travel

Yahoo! beats out Google and MSN as the top travel engine, according to research released today by Claria, whose SearchScout Toolbar just so happens to serve up Yahoo!’s Overture sponsored search results.

Yahoo! beats out Google and MSN as the top travel engine, according to research released today by Claria, whose SearchScout Toolbar just so happens to serve up Yahoo!’s Overture sponsored search results.

We’re not sure if we’re buying it.

Even though this is being promoted as an “independent study” (funny, Claria didn’t bring in an outside partner to conduct it), the results seems a little too convenient for Claria.

This is meant as no slight to Yahoo! We know they have a strong search product, and particularly so for travel, but who is Claria to say they’re the ultimate judge of relevancy? This amounts to little more than noise.
