We all need to get away from it once in a while, and Bill Gates is no exception. He uses his twice annual “Think Week” - a 7 day stretch in a secluded cottage in the Pacific Northwest - as a chance to catch up on his reading, ponder the future of technology, and drink a Diet Orange Crush (or three) from the fridge he had installed near his study to make the most of his reading time.
And read he does - 56 papers over a series of four 18 hour days, and he’s barely begun. A break might involve a 5 minute pass at an online bridge problem (thrills! chills!) or a quick stroll on the beach (though Gates used that time to think about video on the Internet rather than work on his tan).
