Google Gives Away Earth for Free

Google Earth launched late last month in a limited form, but today marks a more widespread launch of the 3D mapping and search product. Even better - it’s free. Get it at the Google Earth download page here.
The commentary on Threadwatch asks some good questions, the most relevant of which is - It’s nice to play with, but why can’t we live without it? I’m not sure either. There’s still coverage and quality issues and the imagery isn’t that much different than what’s available on Google Satellite. Maybe the paid packages offer a better view.
