What? You’re not sick of these two stories already?
Oh, you are. OK then, we’ll keep this short.
A Washington state judge has ruled that ex Microsoft exec Kai-Fu Lee can begin working for Google, effective immediately. There are quite a few restrictions in place - Lee cannot work on anything related to search, natural language processing and speech recognition, but he has been given the go-ahead to begin recruiting and staffing a Google center in China. The Google Blog is declaring this one a win while those at Microsoft are doing the same.
Fresh out of a settlement with Google, Geico is sending warning letters threatening companies with a lawsuit if they do not stop buying Geico as a search advertising term. According to this article (free reg req’d) on AdAge, Geico is warning competitors that it will take legal action against anyone who uses the term “Geico” in an attempt to get users to click through to their site.
