Today Google confirmed that the company has begun a limited test of a free wireless internet service which it’s calling “Google WiFi”.
Google WiFi is currently limited to two public sites near the company’s Mountain View headquarters - a pizza parlor and a gym (how’s that for a combo?).
A few pages publicly available on the Google site contain additional information:
The Google Secure Access page contains a FAQ with details on a “downloadable client application that allows users to establish a more secure WiFi connection.”
An additional page offers a download of Google Secure Access and contains instructions for using the product.
Wired Magazine has more as does this story on Reuters.
Of course none of this is new to y’all SearchViews readers. Remember when?
