“College life, powered by Google,” is the tagline for a new offering unveiled by Google this week.
College Life introduces itself to the co-ed crowd with the following manifesto:
“You spend your life dealing with information. A lot of it is academic, a lot more is personal, it all matters, and you can probably use better tools for handling it effectively. On this page, we’d like to introduce you to a few of them.”
…and also this really hot girl named Stacey. She’s over there by the keg.
Sorry, kidding.
Anyway, the site’s got links to all the usual Google goodies: Gmail, Maps, Talk, SMS, etc. There’s also an invitation to join Gmail and the Google Friends newsletter and a rotating list of 25 Google Tips.
Of course none of this stuff is anything new, but its interesting to see how Google is packaging it to meet the needs of particular demographic. Branding with a capital G.
What’s next - Google Senior? I’m thinking extra-large text, big buttons and an endorsement by Wilford Brimley…
