The internet has made it possible to D.I.Y. just about anything, whether it’s brewing your own beer or performing self-surgery (ouch).

One of the more practical aspects of this movement has been the ability of the average business owner to act as his or her own PR agent.

To that end, Lee Odden of Top Rank Results provides some helpful tips and resources (most of them free) that will help you get the word out. The strategies he promotes are varied and include everything from traditional wired services to blog search engines and RSS. He also has some sound ideas on how to get noticed:
