Got Google AdSense? Got forums? Got AdSense on your forum pages?

If you answered yes to all three of the above then you’ll want to check out this article from the Inside AdSense blog that contains six AdSense optimization tips for forums.

Here’s the long and short of it:

  1. Keep format in mind when placing multiple units
  2. Put your ad units where repeat users will notice them most
  3. Place your leaderboards immediately after the last post to make sure they don’t get skipped over
  4. Horizontal link units. Use them.
  5. The use of mage ads can help improve revenue and combat the low CTR associated with forums
  6. Don’t use instrusive or misleading ads - respect your forum community members
