A few months ago I told you about Smart Answers, a service on Ask Jeeves that serves up search results in neatly packaged contextual search units with handy links to relevant information.
Today I’m pleased to tell you that blogger Barry Schwartz (aka rustybrick) has used the technology to make the first ever wedding proposal via a search engine.
Here’s the announcement from the man himself:
“I just wanted to let all you know, that I am now engaged to be married to my beautiful girlfriend, Yisha…I proposed via Ask Jeeves. I brought Yisha to my office, ask her to search on her name. While she was doing that I kneeled behind her with the ring and flowers. She typed in her name into Ask Jeeves, full name, and up came a special Smart Answer (thanks to Jim Lanzone and team) with the proposal.”
How did he get Lanzone and the guys to agree? Find out here and then get a look at the ring (if you’re into that kind of thing).
Congrats, guys!
