Intel’s into leather but it’s not as kinky as it sounds. The computer maker has issued a press release announcing the debut of a new line of “ultrafashionable” laptops with leather suede exteriors.
The PCs are part of a collaborative effort with Toray Ultrasuede, the makers of a chi-chi high tech fabric that’s used in high-end products ranging from footwear to wall coverings.
Intel says its responding to research that says 73% of American adult computer users want technology products that mirror their individual style.
In other words, Intel wants its laptops to be pretty like that white plastic thingy.
