Leaked Microsoft Docs Expose MS Strategy

The Microsoft/Google rivalry has been around long enough for most to consider it old news.
What isn’t old news is the very new, very specific information that has surfaced today, two primary source documents which provide a good look at exactly how much of a threat Microsoft execs perceive the Big G to be.
These documents take the form of an email from Microsoft mogul Bill Gates and a memo from Microsoft CTO Ray Ozzie that have both leaked onto the web. You can check them out here on Dave Winer’s blog.
Apparently Winer got the documents from a confidential source and went full steam ahead with getting them live:
“I am absolutely certain that the content is authentic. I took the time to convert them to HTML and do some minor formatting. I have not, at the time of this publication, taken the time to read them. You’re seeing them at the same time that I am.”
