Online Grocery Getting Hitting a High

Sites like Fresh Direct are running fresh out of juice and it has nothing to do with a citrus shortage.
A number of online grocers are having a hard time this holiday season mustering the resources to meet the increased deamand for their services.
According to this story in the BBC News, online orders have risen 50% in the UK over last year’s numbers. One retailer reports that it’s delivering twice the number of turkeys as it did last year and its delivery fleet is operating at max capacity.
Disappointing a customer is never good for PR, but when it comes to holiday entertaining, the stakes are especially high:
Says Ed Garner, retail consultant:
“If there was a risk of failing to fill the Christmas orders that would be a PR disaster of heroic proportions.”
