A new texting technology that stands to benefit everyone from cheating spouses to corporate spies to celebutantes has made its debut.
It’s called StealthText and it’s a text-messaging service that delivers missives which automatically self-destruct 40 seconds after being opened.
British-based Stallium UK is behind the venture, originally intended as a way to boost corporate security, the idea being that high-level execs will no longer need to worry whether highly sensitive messages will fall into the wrong hands.
However, as this article states, StealthText can have a number of practical applications:
“History is littered with tales of messages that should have been destroyed…According to Carole Barnum, CEO and cofounder of Staellium UK, StealthText users can breathe a sigh of relief 40 seconds after sending a message. ‘The ability to send a self-destruct message has massive benefits for people from all walks of life, from everyday mobile users to celebrities and business people,’ Barnum said.
We’ll say. Remember the Paris Hilton Hacker reign of terror?
Even cooler about this is that the sender is the only person who needs to download the application. Stuff Magazine UK has more details.
