There’s No Suit Like A Law Suit..

Unless, of course, it’s a leisure suit and we’re pretty sure Yahoo doesn’t have one of those.
What they do have is a bone to pick with MFORMA, the San Francisco-based mobile entertainment company who’s currently under fire from the search engine behemoth for allegedly stealing trade secrets.
Yahoo says MFORMA employees (who just-so-happen to be ex-employees of Yahoo) took a little more than spare Sharpies and Post-It notes with them when they left the company. More specifically, technologies designed to aid the delivery of content to mobile devices. It’s seeking an injuction in a California court to stop the employees from taking any further action.
Yahoo counsel Reggie Davis says the search engine has “extensive evidence of wholesale theft” while MFORMA prez Jonathan Sacks says the company is standing firm against any attacks on its reputation: “We are not going to be intimidated in doing that by a giant company that chooses to sue to intimidate people if they want to leave.”
More here in the San Jose Mercury News and some great insider gossip on the SiliconBeat blog.
On a related note, MFORMA is one of the sponsors of the World Poker Tour. Visit the official site and see the company’s press release here.
