Last week we covered a story out of Forbes claiming that Yahoo! was reworking its search ad ranking system to consider ads’ click-through rates in addition to keyword bids. Supposedly called Project Panama, it was said to be testing in Scandinavia. Well, the Search Engine Watch Blog has received word from Yahoo! that although nothing is testing in the state of Denmark, they are cooking up some significant changes. Here’s a snip from SEW:

“As we’ve said in the past, Yahoo is working on a new search advertising interface that will provide businesses with a more powerful, easier to use advertising experience. We plan to introduce the new interface during the second half of this year.”

In other quick Yahoo! News Yahoo! Publisher Network, Y!’s contextual advertising product, has its own blog now. Along with the promise of tips, announcements, and publisher profiles, YPN posted their team’s group photo, which Search Engine Journal’s Loren Baker has closely dissected. Read his startling theories about conpiracy, sock monkeys and Jeremy Zawodny right here.
