Sometimes you read your feeds and you feel old. Then you realize that, hey - at least I’m reading my news on feeds and not sitting on a park bench with a rumpled-up paper, feeding pigeons.

Where was I going with this? Oh yea…

Times Are Changin’ #1 Eastman Kodak has announced its plans to raise the price of consumer and professional film between 3 and 17 percent beginning May 1. A major increase in the cost of raw materials, transportation and packaging was cited as the reason behind the measure, though many are saying it has more to do with the rise of digital. Read more here in Popular Photography Magazine and here on Gizmodo. By the way, Kodak also just debuted 24 karat gold CDs and DVDs that the firm says could last up to 300 years. Read the story (and some crazy inane commentary in the feedback section) here.

Times Are Changin’ #2 Last week we wrote about PBS, Premium Content and The Long Tail. Now the little network that could is back in the news, with reports like this one that the company is planning on making its shows available online via the Internet and mobile devices. Of course, this has been talked about before and select shows are already available online. But, as this piece in Red Herring indicates, PBS is taking a more strategic approach, talking to technology partners in much the same way Disney did with Apple. Bert and Ernie, we hardly knew ye.
