Reader’s Digest Strikes a Tasty Deal, BBC & Affiliate Links

Although they’re sorely lacking in recipes for bacon sandwiches (especially the 22 strip kind, like the one pictured here), AllRecipes.com is a very cool survivor of the dot com bust.
Today Reader’s Digest announced it’ll be buying the site for somewhere in the neighborhood of $66 million.
The plan is to position the site as a portal for RD’s existing food sites. Read more here on TheStreet.com.
In other news, is the BBC cashing in with affiliate links? Threadwatch wonders if it’s so as heartless hackers continue to exploit our love of all things British in order to get us to open attack-laden email.
