Rhode Island may have to change its state nickname from “The Ocean State” to something more suitably tech.
America’s smallest state may soon be the first to boast a border to border broadband wireless network.
The Rhode Island Wireless Innovation Networks is a $20 million dollar project that’s expected to bring wireless connectivity to the entire state by 2007. Despite the challenges of such an endeavor, with a land mass of a little over 1,000 square miles, many analysts say this deadline is attainable for the state. Then again, we are talking about the government.
