“Was this your query?” Yesterday, Yahoo! rolled out a new search feature on their long-dormant alltheweb.com site called livesearch. As you type your query in the search box, livesearch tries to guess what your intent is, listing several possibilities based on previous searches and refining them as you add characters. This certainly isn’t the first search suggestion tool to hit the net - Danny Sullivan has compiled an impressive list of forebears - but does offer the unique feature of automatically (and almost instantaneously) serving search results as it tries to guess your query.
Yahoo!, Telemundo son juntos We hope that FreeTranslation isn’t totally mangled…anyway, PaidContent says that Yahoo!’s U.S. Spanish site has merged with Telemundo.com. The firms will share ad revenue generated by the site; NBC-owned Telemundo hopes for a boost that will help it catch market-leading Univision, and Yahoo! enjoys privileged access to some of the network’s online content.
Went to the internet and a hockey game broke out We’ll tip our hat to PaidContent again, for noticing that Yahoo Sports apparently has a deal with Comcast/OLN to stream NHL goodies online, including highlights packages and several remaining Stanley Cup playoff games. Starting next season, they’ll be able to show up to two regular-season contest per night; the next Stanley Cup game showing is scheduled for May 17.
