A good number of Craigslist-related items making news. Here are a few that caught our eye:

It’s All About the Hamiltons, Baby As of today Craigslist will begin charging real estate brokers $10 dollars per listing. Founder Newmark says he hopes the move will improve quality and decrease the volume of junk listings. As expected, brokers have begun trying to get around it by posting fraudulently in other sections. Gothamist has the story.

When The Bough Breaks, The Tenant Will Fall A New York man who put his treehouse up for rent on Craigslist as a joke has found a number of interested takers. And who can blame them? At $150 per month, it’s a steal and bigger than your average studio apartment. Read more.

The Next Replacement for Star Jones? Craig Newmark recently made a guest appearance on ABC’s The View where he answered questions on his fame and fortune (or lack thereof - well, the fame part at least). The low-key tech whiz said the one thing he’s lacking is a hummingbird feeder and, in true Craigslist fashion, he invited viewers to help him out.

People Actually Pay to Do That?! Even though we at SearchViews could never comprehend handing over our hard-earned dollars for the “privilege” of running 26 miles, apparently there are some people for whom it’s not a problem. Thus, the healthy market for scalping marathon bib numbers on Craigslist.
