New In Google:
- Google Maps Adds ‘More Info’: Option to expand/collapse more info showed up today on Google Maps.
- Google News Adds Blogs: Or rather, a link to Blog Search directly from Google News. Is this a hint that Google News and Blogs are becoming more closely aligned?
- Google Earth Adds Face: Google Earth picked up the scarily resemblant image of a man’s face.
Old in MSN, Amazon, and Monster
- Microsoft Doesn’t Wait for Directions: MSN removed Belgian content without a court order.
- Amazon Rejects Google: Amazon decided not to hand over proprietary info to Google that would support Google’s defense against book publishers. What a shocker, considering Amazon’s own Book Scanner directly competes with Google Books.

Up and Coming
- Microsoft Gets Big Praise: Analyists are raving about MSN’s Windows Defender as it finally comes out of beta. Says Lifehacker, “I’ve been a Windows Defender user for a long time, and I’ve never experienced a single spyware problem on my PC.”
- Outside. In: Points for creativity, and points for social networking.
- Rumors and More Rumors: Techcrunch speculates that Digg.com will be the next big social media sell-off.
- Bookmark It: Yahoo! released the latest and greatest Bookmarks and Toolbars, featuring type-ahead suggestions, better organization and management, site thumbnails, and the ability to save and selective content.
