Friends With Enterprise: Yahoo, IBM, the Cloud

Yahoo and IBM have teamed up to create an internal search solution for small/med-sized businesses. OmniFind is a free IBM software with a Yahoo interface, in which search results from corporate data will be listed like Yahoo SERPs. Though the results will run without sponsored ads, phone support will be offered as a paid service. From the Yahoo Blog, the software will include:

Speaking of enterprise products - the Cloud, a company that aggregates WiFi hotspots, is looking for a wifi solution for corporate-networks. The Cloud is trying to address the common problem of connecting visitors to a private business wifi network - If someone travels to your office for a meeting and at the end of the meeting asks to check their e-mail, What do you do? The Register notes, “Refusing seems petty, while acceding is a security risk.” According to a cloud survey, most would deny access to the visitor, because it would be “an unacceptable security risk” and “could have legal ramifications”. Cloud envisions a server that would give guests secure access to company networks, without compromising private information.
