The Big Search Answers for 2007

Related to our recent list of ‘What If’s for next year’s search market, I thought I’d take a stab at answering my own questions. Could Yahoo make a comeback? Would XBOX ever be an online application? These are some tough queries, and the only answers I have are based on more unreliable “IF”s. So in the spirit of the holidays, I decided to defer my thoughts to one much wiser, more -ahem - experienced mind — the Answer Me Jesus. Answer Me Jesus is, in Magic-8-Ball fashion, a way to ask and definitively find out What Jesus Would Do. So, I asked Jesus the Big Questions from my earlier post, and provided for you are the responses:

Q: Is a Microsoft/Yahoo merger really ever going to happen?
J: I died for this?

Q: Search is about simplicity - Can Microsoft make it all simple enough to use?
J: Watch out for the lightning!

Q: Can Yahoo make their advertising products attractive enough to lure distribution clients away from Google?
J: Sinner.

Q: Is the US market ready, from either a technology or consumer-knowledge standpoint, to widely adopt the mobile internet?
J: Ye of little faith.

Q: Google is good at search, has built billions on search and has extended to every corner of the internet…. can they figure out how to make a profit on anything other than search?
J: Let me ask my dad.
