Last-Minute Web 2.0 Gifts

It’s almost Christmas, which means we’re almost out of time to get our gifts in order. So for all the procrastinators, we thought we’d list five of our favorite social media and Web 2.0 services that would work as last-minute gifts for less Internet-savvy friends and relatives.

1. Mint.com consolidates most of your finances in one place. Perfect for college students, parents, friends, whomever.

2. Frucall.com is a mobile comparison shopping engine; you can call, text, or browse from your phone when you’re in a store. (This is probably something that would have been really useful a little sooner in the holiday season, but anyone that gets cash for the holidays will want to spend it smartly.)

3. Google flight tracking just got better. Send it to relatives that are going to be coming and going this week, and use it yourself to figure out when to pick them up from the airport.

4. Buy your non-bloggy friends URLs and set them up with tumblelogs on Tumblr.com.

5. Spokeo.com is creepy at first but ultimately useful: it aggregates friends’ activity online when you import your email contacts. Definitely not one to share with your parents, but friends addicted to Facebook will be into this.

What useful social media or web 2.0 services would you set up for your friends and family? Leave us a comment or let us know on Twitter (twitter.com/searchviews).
