As I write today a fog deeper and more profound than the one shrouding the city last night has settled in over my cranium. Could it be that multiple Maker’s Marks on a Wednesday night are not the best of ideas? No matter, it was Reprise Media’s holiday party and there was no room for mopeyness or revelry squelching.

The laptop and turntables were manned by none other than DJ Spooky, who kept the beats flowing like the open bars throughout the evening. Spooky was an apt choice, having written extensively on the links between new digital media and popular culture.

The party took place at Ramscale, (not to be confused with industrial band Rammstein) a huge loft space in the West Village with sweeping panoramic views of the city and New Jersey just across the Hudson River. Office Manager Paige Cutrona, who put the party together, deserves major props for the great setting and the varied scrumptious foods which included delicious vegetarian options for those who forego meat.

In addition to having our entire Boston and San Francisco offices represented we were joined by MediaPost’s spunky camera wielding correspondent Kelly Samardak, who wrote up her impressions of the evening in today’s Just an Online Minute post. It was a great time for people within the company to meet each other’s significant others, talk about the past year and attempt various forms of dance including my patented Dancing Santa move. The moving and groovin’ was aided and abetted by the AV 2.0 skills of Justin Bolognino at Eclectic Method who supplied awesome video and made sure the sounds of DJ Spooky carried. Bolognino also does top-notch event planning through Learned Evolution in Brooklyn.

In all it was a classy, fun party and it sent everyone home in the wee hours (via foot, taxi, train, bus, or designated driver) full of good food, nice booze, and good thoughts for the coming year.
