Search News: Search Insider Summit Triangulates Search with “Three Sides” Panel

In a past life I spent some time in Park City, Utah as a journalist covering the Sundance Film Festival for The Amsterdam News. It’s a lovely city with some very good,  expensive restaurants and stunning mountain vistas.

So I’m a little envious of you folks who are off to this year’s Search Insider Summit in that very location, even if you don’t get to rub shoulders with Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jim Jarmusch.

That being said, the Rashomon–esquely titled panel  There’s Three Sides to Everything promises to open up some interesting dialogue between publishers, marketers and agencies around search engine marketing.  Here’s the description:

“Marketer’s wish their agencies understood them and their needs better. In turn, agencies wish marketer’s expectations were set a little more realistically. Both agencies and marketers sometimes get frustrated with the publisher’s level of responsiveness. And the publisher’s wish both marketer’s and agencies had a better understanding of their situation. In any relationship there are communication problems and this triangle is no exception. In this session, we let a representative from each take their turn to state their case and issue their wish list.”

This has the makings of one groovy encounter group. At the very least, feelings will be shared, truths will be learned, and a good rap session will go down.

On the panel are representatives of Google, Yahoo (separated I’m sure) and Intuit joined by Reprise Media SVP of Business Development Dan Kashman. The moderator is Jessica Bowman of SEM in House. Will everybody “hug it out” at the end of the panel? You’ll just have to show up to find out.

Don’t miss this peninsular outcropping of knowledge if you are at SIS – Saturday December 6th at 9:15AM.
